Jets receiver Jamison Crowder’s has tested positive for COVID-19, a source confirmed.
Crowder will be placed on the COVID list Friday, leaving his status for the season opener next Sunday against the Panthers in question. NFL Network first reported Crowder’s status.
The 28-year-old Crowder sat out practice Thursday with what Jets coach Robert Saleh said was a groin issue. The seven-year NFL veteran totaled 59 receptions for 699 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games last season.
Crowder’s vaccination status is unclear, but if he has received the shots, he’ll be required to post two negative tests one day apart to return to the Jets’ facility. If not vaccinated, he will be sidelined a minimum of 10 days.
