CWG 2022 Day 8 Live Updates: Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia reached the quarterfinals of the men’s 65 kg after beating Nauru’s Lowe Bingham. Deepak Punia also cruised to the quarterfinals after winning his bout in the men’s freestyle 86 kg wrestling. Bhavinaben Patel reached the final of the women’s singles para table tennis classes 3-5. Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran reached the quarterfinals of the table tennis mixed doubles event. The Indian pair defeated the Nigerian duo of Ojomu Ajoke and Omotayo Olajide in straight games. Manika Batra also went on to reach the quarter-finals of the women’s singles event, beating Australia’s Minhyung Jee 11-4, 11-8, 11-6, 12-10. On Thursday, Sudhir won a historic gold medal in the men’s heavyweight para powerlifting, while Murali Sreeshankar won a silver in the long jump. Star sprinter Hima Das will also feature in the Women’s 200m semifinal. In badminton, PV Sindhu will be action in the women’s singles Round of 16 clash. Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will also be in action in the men’s doubles.
