BMW has launched the M340i xDrive 50 Jahre M Edition in India priced at Rs 68.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The special edition celebrates 50 years of BMW’s high-performance M Division and the model is being locally assembled at BMW’s India plant. The 50 Jahre M Edition comes with cosmetic updates over the standard M340i along with two special packages that further spice up the performance sedan’s appeal. The M340i 50 Jahre M Edition is the first of the many launches as the company celebrates 50 years of the M Division. The 50 Jahre M Edition is about ₹ 3 lakh more expensive when compared to the standard version.

The BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre M Edition will be available in BMW individual paint schemes – Dravit Grey and Tanzanite Blue. The model also gets a high-gloss black finish on the kidney grille, along with a jet-black finish on the window surround, mirror caps, 19-inch M light-alloy wheels, and 50 Jahre M roundel in front rear and wheel hub caps. The M340i features adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight. The cabin gets sports seats with M-specific upholstery in a Sensatec/Alcantara trim. The special edition also comes with an Anthracite roof liner, along with high-gloss Shadow Line elements, an M leather steering wheel with shift paddles, and trims finished in Piano Black and Galvanic embellishment. Other features include ambient lighting three-zone climate control, welcome light carpet, and more.

The BMW M340i 50 Jahre M Edition continues to draw power from the familiar 3.0-litre six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged petrol motor. The unit develops 387 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power goes to all four wheels with the xDrive function that ensures you put down power most effectively. The car can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 4.4 seconds and continues to be the quickest car to be produced in the country. Other upgrades include an M Sport suspension, variable sport steering, and M Sport brake for better handling and agility. There’s also an M Sport differential to optimise traction and better stability at high speeds.

The BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre M Edition is also being offered with two exclusive and optional 50 Years of M packages – Motorsport Pack and Carbon Pack. The Motorsport pack includes M Performance Steering Wheel, selector gear knob in Alcantara, Rear Spoiler in matt black and more. Meanwhile, the Carbon pack includes interior trims in carbon fibre, an M Performance steering wheel, and the rear spoiler in carbon fibre.
